I ran across this on Google News minutes ago. I realize this is not long enough for a diary but felt the information too important to ignore.

What are we to think will happen next? And why (!) is the MSM not reporting???

Bomb kills 20 near Green Zone entrance

Alarm calls over loud speakers warn residents in Green Zone area to take cover as mortar attacks target US embassy.

BAGHDAD – Car bomb blast rocked al Karrada district in Baghdad close to a Green Zone entrance, killing 20 and leaving 18 injured, according to Iraqi police reports.

The explosion took place just twenty minutes after mortar attacks hit areas inside the Green Zone, behind the American Embassy.

The US embassy declined to comment if there were any casualties caused by the attacks, but alarm calls over loud speakers warned residents in the Green Zone area to take cover.<snip>

BAGHDAD, Iraq -- A huge explosion rocked central Baghdad shortly before sunset, local time, and after two mortar shells slammed into the heavily fortified Green Zone.

Black smoke could be seen rising into the air along the east bank of the Tigris River.

The Green Zone houses the U.S. embassy and other key government buildings. The public address system inside the zone could be heard warning in English that people should take cover. The address said, "This is not a drill."
